Bike Envy

One of our favorite regulars, Eddie, stopped by on this sweet looking bike and we couldn't help but feel a little jealous. Don't forget to say "hi" if you see him cruising around Rockridge.

Styles from Salt Lake

You'd never expect Salt Like City to be pumping out cool, sleek sneakers in understated styles, but that's exactly what Zuriick does. We just got a shipment today of their canvas shoes with their signature purple vulcanized rubber sole.

Beata in black, $65

A mid-top, six-eye sneaker done in back cotton canvas and off-white trim. Simple and clean, just like we like them.

Ake in charcoal, $55

Slip-on done in charcoal with a blue midsole. The elasticized gore is cleverly concealed underneath the upper.

Art, Front and Center

We've been getting a ton of passer-bys stopping and staring at the art installation in our front window. All three pieces are the work of Larry Baumiller, a local artist who specialized in wearable art, sculpture, toys, and puppets. These pieces are the culmination of hours of work and not a single tie has been cut to fit. Larry's work is going to be exhibited throughout the weekend, but will be leaving the store on Monday. If you haven't had a chance to take a closer look, we suggest dropping by.

A Little Leather in Your Life

Our eagerly awaited shipment of Tanner leather goods has finally arrived. Using only the finest, sturdiest full-grain and latigo leathers, the Tanner guys cut, sew, and assemble every single piece by hand in Portland. All items are branded by hand for assured authenticity.

Standard belts, $64 for brushed nickel, $72 for matte black nickel
The original Tanner standard belt is made out of 8/9 oz. latigo leather. Extraordinarily tough, these belts will feel still at first, but will soften and develop a beautiful natural patina with wear. Brushed nickel hardware is available in natural, brown, and black and matte black hardware is available in black.

Utility bifold, $58 each

3 oz. mid-weight full-grain leather coupled with sleek, minimal styling for the perfectly understated wallet. Slots for four cards and bills. Available in natural, brown, and black.

Basic cardholder, $44 each

If you prefer to only keep a few essential with you, the basic cardholder, made from the same durable 3 oz. full-grain as the bifold, is perfect. The clever construction uses just two pieces of leather, two rivets, and a snap closure to keep everything in place. Available in natural, brown, and black.

Hiz, not Hers

Out of Gilroy, California comes KOkORO Candles, the brainchild of Heidi Cook. Refusing to compromise Heidi has done everything she can to ensure that these are the best candles you'll ever light up. From their four pour to the final wax seal on the box, these candles are hand-crafted and it shows. Made out of 100% soy wax, KOkORO candles are biodegrable and produce no soot. And rather than using toxic lead filaments to keep the wick upright, Heidi's opted for a cotton braided, vegetable-dipped wick. Hiz is the first male-centered scent that KOkORO has released and we're glad to have it in store. With a scent reminiscent of cologne, Hiz is a sophisticated addition to any home.

Last Minute Addition from PF Flyers

Number 5 in white, $90

With the sudden spike in temperature, these PF Flyers couldn't have showed up at a better time. Instead of flip-flops, go sockless in these Number 5's. Durable ecru canvas is accented by white leather trim and a woven leather toecap. And the soft pigskin insole is as comfortable as sneakers get.

Dorky and Dapper

Paul Frank keeps the geek chic aesthetic alive with their latest batch of summer stuff. As always, it's an easy, polished look with a bit of tongue-in-cheek humor. And they've started rebranding all their items.

Audio-Visual Brief, $14

For any and all A/V geeks out there; a slightly less outward show of your love for electronics. Turntables, computers, and wristwatches form a bold graphic pattern.

Roboflauge boxer briefs, $18

What looks like standard army camflauge is actually an eye-catching print of robots done in camo greens, browns, and khakis. Some highbrow, high-tech humor for your underwear drawer.

Harrison shirt, $52

An all-over plaid in neutral khaki and browns, the Harrison features a button-down chest pocket and a rear shoulder yoke. Another piece in a great season for short-sleeved shirts.

Cera polo, $52

Cool polo for the summer in red, blue, and white horizontal stripes (a little late for the Fourth of July, though), the Cera might be a reference to Michael Cera's dorky character on Arrested Development. Or maybe it's just another funky polo.

Mathimagic shirt, $68

Remember Revenge of the Nerds? Remember pocket protectors? Well, even if you don't, apparently the folks over at Paul Frank do and have culled everything we loved about nerds from the 80s for this shirt. A cool plaid in different shades of blue, this shirt comes with a functional pocket protector.

3 New Shirts from 7 Diamonds

A perennial favorite, more 7 Diamonds button-ups have arrived in the store.

Tuesday Afternoon, $64

If the sun's getting to you, think about the Tuesday Afternoon short-sleeved button-up. A contemporary warm-weather take on Western shirts, it comes in a light blue plaid with black snap buttons and two chest pockets. Black contrast finishing at the hem, down the front, and on the back yoke.

Mind Games, $98

Black doesn't have to boring and this shirt proves it. Constructed from several panels of black cotton, this piece has a great shape to it. Metal rivets at the arm flaps, chest pockets, and sleeves add hardware in unexpected places. Features metal button placket, chest pockets, epaulettes, buttoned down shoulder yoke, and angled cuffs.

New Sensation, $70

The combination of smooth and textured cotton panels makes this a real New Sensation. Beveled double-button cuffs add subtle sophistication while a tailored cut plays up the contrast between fabrics. An ideal piece for the guy who wants to make a statement, but doesn't feel the need to shout it out loud.

LOST AND FOUND

Here are a couple of things that have been left at the store recently. We've got more in our lost and found, so if you've noticed anything missing, give us a call or stop by to claim them. We hope everything will find it's way home!

Going Green, Looking Great

Another round of stuff from Sustainable Collective has arrived, and it keeps with their tradition of fashion forward styling that's still eco-friendly.

Heliodor shirt in pewter, $106

A super-detailed shirt, the Heliodor is done in a complicated, but subtle weave that has tons of texture and depth. Military-inspired flap front pockets and epaulettes with sleek, black snap buttons give this shirt structure and shape. Sleeve buttons allow for a rolled-up, laid-back look.

Guard polo in charcoal, $84

Like all their t-shirts, the Guard polo is much more detailed than it first appears. Contrast-lined collar and a four-button placket make this seem normal enough, but the two zip-close chest pockets give this polo a cool twist.
