Barocco Hi Collar Lambskin Black $198

The high-top receives the royal treatment in a supple black lambskin. It might be minimalist, but it's definitely not boring. Vulcanized rubber sole, padded ankle for comfort, velcro strap over lacing, and signature elongated silhouette.

Jamaica Easy Derby Chicken Brown $165

Schmoove's classic shoe, the Jamaica, comes to us this season in a more relaxed version. Done in a wrinkled brown leather, the Jamaica Easy Derby takes the detailing of your favorite leather derbies and combines them with a vulcanized rubber sole for a look that's classic and new, all at once.

Even the classic chukka boot shape gets a facelight for the modern day. Vulcanized rubbed sole meets pebbled navy leather upper with welt detailing at the heel for a shoe that looks as natural with your skinny jeans or some straight leg trousers.

Fall 2008: Converse by John Varvatos

Double face tuxedo jacket, $395

A 100% cotton jacket that's perfect for dressed up casual looks, this blazer shows off Varvatos' craftsmanship: partially trimmed peak lapels, full lining, one-button closure, chest pocket, three outer flap pockets, two internal chest pockets, and double vented for a comfortable fit.

Double face waistcoast, $195

Peak lapels and an elasticized back give this waistcoat a refined edge. Four button front and two pockets. Wear it with the jacket for a complete look or without for a look that's effortlessly sophisticated.

Double face tuxedo pants, $185

The last piece to finish the ensemble. These slightly tapered cotton pants feature two front pockets, two back welt pockets, notched waist, and silkscreen detailing inside on the pocket bags. A classic trouser if there ever was one.

Chaucer coat, $286

Stand out this fall in the Chaucer jacket, done in a striking dip-dye ombre. Double-breasted, made of a thick wool, and fully lined in quilted polyester, the Chaucer is the standout piece of their fall collection. Leather zipper pulls, two pockets at the hips, and one chest pocket.

This hooded windbreaker definitely breaks the mold. Asymmetric placket with large snap buttons. Fully lined in ultra soft jersey. Ribbed cuffs, hem, and arm inserts make for a trim silhouette. Snap button pockets at the hips and zippered chest pocket.

A chunky knit sweater that avoids looking bulky, the Wolfe is made of 100% merino wool, perfect as outerwear or as a layer when it gets really cold. Elbow patches lend some refinement, while the shawl collar and neck buckles provide a variety of ways to wear it.

One of Orthodox’s signature shirts gets an update. Details include welt pockets at the hips and chest, five-button sleeve, detachable neck strap, and convertible epaulettes. Wear it by itself or as a shirt jacket for a new approach to layering.

Wild West meets high-tech in this re-imagined western shirt. Button-down flap pockets at the chest and a gunflap over the left shoulder make this piece surprising, but subtle.

Never has mixing a knit and a woven come off so cool. A contrast woven four-button placket with detachable neck strap makes for a dashing silhouette. Ribbed cuffs and hem keep the silhouette lean while two kangaroo pockets add a practical touch.

Layering reaches new heights of sophistication with pieces like the Eliot. This wide-neck long-sleeve tee in a purple, grey stripe looks deceptively simple, but details like raw edges and sewn-on buttons make this much more than a tee.

With an asymmetric button placket and long-drapey sleeves, it’s hard to mistake the James as just another Henley. Thin, gauze-y cotton makes this the ideal layering piece for fall.

Blake jeans, $169

Even jeans get an update. Take your typical straight leg jeans, add some darts for fit, extra zippers and pockets for functionality, and coat it with resin for a beautiful finish. These run small, so try your true size and one size down. Unlike other denim, these will not stretch much, as the coating keeps the jeans’ shape. Wear them down and the coating will develop into a lustrous patina.

This Just In: Apolis Activism Cardigan

Shawl collar cardigan, $165

Fall signals a return to classics and nothing says "classic" more than a shawl collar cardigan. Apolis Activism does a riff on the wardrobe staple with its four button-flap pockets, two hidden welt pockets, and epaulettes for the blend of functionalism and military detailing that we've come to expect from them. Done in a luxuriously warm merino wool, this jet black piece is long enough and thick enough to serve as outerwear for lightdays or as a layer underneath a coat for when it gets really chilly.

For those who need constant inspiration for your wardrobe, look no further than Bay Area-based Chictopia, a new site that combines social networking, forums, shopping, and allows people from around the world to share their style. Teen Vogue has called them the "next big thing" and we're glad to see the Web 2.0 generation turning technology into a tool for fashion.

An American in Florence

Leader of the modern American avant-garde, Thom Browne, will be the next headliner at the Pitti Uomo trade show in Florence, according to DNR. Following in the footsteps of such notables as Belgian surrealist Walter Van Bierendonck and fellow American Adam Kimmel, Browne (known for his theatrical and complex shows) is certain to impress.

This season's issue runs the gamut of fall essentials, with features on Japanese designer Takahiro Miyashita of Number (N)ine, Tod's famous driving shoe, and interviews with other members of the fashion elite.

Good Society Restocks

Good news for denim lovers; we've gotten a full size run replenishment of our Good Society jeans in both slim and straight fits. Also, unlike the last batch, these are properly sized and should fit true.

Fall 2008: Hyden Yoo shirts

We're glad to announce the arrival of Hyden Yoo's sophisticated button-down shirts in the store. With three fits (Classic, Edward, and Slim), there's bound to be something for every guy for every occasion. All shirts are 100% cotton and, with the exception of the Edward shirt, all have collar stays (though you should feel free to use your own).

A beautiful casual shirt, the Edward shirt features a regular fit with a box pleat at the back for fit. Button down collar and rounded cuffs keep you dapper even when you're dressed down. Done in a beautiful blue check weave, don't be afraid to undo all the buttons, roll up the sleeves, and throw it over jeans and a t-shirt.

The spread collar on the Classic shirt is probably the first thing you noticed. A perfect way to add personality to a suit, wear the Classic with a windsor knot for a bold, dressy statement. Undarted and unpleated with mitered cuffs.

Two darts in the black give this shirt its long, lean silhouette. The point collar and mitered cuffs give it just the right proportions. Whether you need a shirt to dress up jeans or another shirt for a suit, you can't go wrong with a classic piece like this. The weave of the fabric is actually very subtle with black striping and white fabric woven in two directions, giving the shirt a textured look.
