Pushing the Right Buttons

Yesterday, the New York Times' Jim Larkin wrote a piece about button stances, talking about the extremes between dressing like Fabio and Steve Urkel. Luckily, all of our shirts occupy a very comfortable middle ground, as you can see from our Apolis Activism Military Woven.

Unlike sleeve length or fit around the chest, there's no way for your tailor to change the button stance on a shirt, so the next time you come in to try stuff on, double-check to make sure that you like how you look buttoned up and undone. And if one doesn't work out, don't forget that we've got a ton of other brands, from the easy fit of James Perse's shirts to the more tailored look from Shirt by Shirt.

Shirt by Shirt

Our first shipment from Shirt by Shirt has arrived right on time for summer. In addition to making their own line of tailored clothing, Shirt by Shirt is the manufacturer for big name brands like JOHAN by J. Lindeberg, Zara, French Connection, and Zegna Sport.

Marine White Circle Shirt $88

A subtle white print and extra stitching on the placket makes this shirt a refined, but a casual choice for warmer weather.

Seersucker Shirt $120

By far our favorite summer shirt that's come in, this seersucker shirt comes complete with a lined collar in a great all-over dotted print. Our advice is to leave it never iron it for the perfect rumpled look.

Plain white shirt $77

And nothing beats a casual, light cotton shirt for summer. Whether you pair it with some shorts or pin-rolled khakis, you can't go wrong.

Blue plaid shirt $140

We've seen a ton of plaid this season, but this is, by far, one of the smartest takes we've come across in a while. With cuffs and collar lined in a great paisley-type print, this shirt deserves a place in your closet as a casual staple. And the photos don't do any justice to the grat blue-tinted plaid.
