WeSC - Spring/Summer '08

Another week, another round of new things in store. The latest shipment comes from Sweden's WeSC (We Are The Superlative Conspiracy), a clothing label/sponsor for arts and sports. And as the temperatures begin climbing, you'll need something cool to keep you cool.

Ludde T-shirt, $58

A cool combination of different shades of grey and black are printed in an abstract, geometric pattern. Pair with a clean pair of jeans or shorts and some slip-ons for a summer outfit you can wear day in and day out.

Krille Button-up, $68

Plaid gets taken to the next level with the Krille short-sleeved button-up. The assymetic collar detail provides the perfect finishing touch for a clean, but different look.

Jason Long-sleeved woven, $75

Another great plaid, but in a summer-ready yellow/brown color scheme. WeSC constantly takes old pieces and reinvents them in geometric and intellectual ways.

Kenta Jacket, $140

Don't let the simple design fool you, this jacket is loaded with subtle details. Done in an allover windowpane textured check, this piece has ribbing around the cuffs and hem for a fitted look. A double-button closure covers the zipper at the neck for a cool last touch.

Berra Jacket, $104

If you haven't gotten some color in your closet yet, the Berra Jacket is the perfect way to inject a little life any wardrobe. Effortlessly easy, the Berra cinches at the neck and waist so you can wear it loose or tight. A zip-away hood adds functionality as well as structure around the collar. No excuse now if you spend your whole summer in drab, dark jackets.

In addition to tops, we've gotten in two styles of WeSC denim: the straight fit in raw denim and the slim fit with 2% stretch. Both are done in beautiful, dark blue and the straight fit is sure to please anyone looking for their fix of raw denim. Both come with WeSC's signature assymetrical back pocket detailing.

Standard in Raw, $98

Slim in Rinse, $108

Hats Off For Summer

We know that a lot of you guys have been asking about when the next shipment of Brixton hats would be coming in and we're glad to report that they just arrived today! We've got in a ton of styles, but only limited quantities, so make sure to head in soon or to give us a call. And at these price points, you can see why they're some of our favorites.

Bruiser in brown tweed/grey herringbone, $35

For those guys who absolutely refuse to stop wearing baseball caps, here's a grown-up alternative. Whether you go with the tweed or herringbone, this satin-lined number has a slightly shorter bill than typical caps for a more restrained approach to casual hats.

Castor in natural/black, $45

Straw hats are a summer essential. If you're looking for something a little more classic, grab the natural straw. If you'd rather have something a bit sleeker, the black is for you. Either way, you can't go wrong with a silk-lined straw hat for the upcoming summer days.

Stroll in brown herringbone, $50

Sturdy twill and a feather in your cap? Strike a great balance between sophisticated and casual in a piece that'll last you through the summer for years to come.

Hooligan in brown herringbone suiting/brown plaid, $35

The ubiquitous Brixton pin and printed satin lining turns what would be a boring newsboy cap into a rougish take on English style.

Fiddler in khaki/black twill, $35

The nautical-inspired Fiddler pairs tough twill in sharp colors with a comfy fit and satin lining. Anchor-stamped buttons are the perfect touch of metal to finish off the look.

Cheap Monday and Kostym

This season, not only have we got two great washes in Cheap Monday's regular fit, but we've also got some pieces from their Kostym collection, an offshoot of the main line for more tailored and sophisticated looks.

Kostym Trench, $155

A lightweight, but still rather substantial trenchcoat, this piece is perfect for breezy summer nights. Lined in a lightweight synthetic mesh, this trenchcoat has a row of snap closures and includes a belt to keep your silhouette clean.

Mod Jacket, $140

Take a cue from Hardy Aimes, the British arbiter of mod fashion during the 60s, with this three-button suit jacket. With a higher button stance, double vents, and a trim shape, this jacket just oozes style.

Mod Pant in grey and black, $100 (Sold Out)

Kostym's Mod Pants are a wonderful slightly tapered trouser with slash pockets on the side and welt pockets on the back. A perfect cut for summer, dress it down or up as you like.

But it's the small details that make Kostym such a fun line. This little message ("Never Forget the Secret Handshake) lines the waistband on the pants.

Regular fit in broken blue, $65

Those looking for a great pair of blue jeans in a classic cut with clean detailing should look no further. It's tough to describe the wash on these jeans; it's a lighter blue in Cheap Monday's signature raw denim for your summer wardrobe, but still dark enough so you don't look like you're a couple decades behind.

Regular fit in alive black, $65

The black on these jeans is absolutely beautiful. Since these aren't overdyed, there's a white weft that adds a grainy, grey look to the denim. Both of these are great jeans that'll only look better with age.

Sustainable Collective - Spring/Summer '08

The spring shipment from Sustainable Collective by Convoy has come in. Using recycled fabrics, natural dyes, and focusing on the environmental impact of making clothes, the folks at Sustainable Collective have put out a great collection of pieces featuring both great design and a social conscious. The price tags and even the bag in which they arrived are biodegradable! Talk about eco-friendly fashion.
Aragonite Recycled Hoodie, $110

This is a jacket that has to be seen to be believed. Using fabric salvaged from other garments and then re-worked, the Aragonite hoodie is a masterpiece in texture, from the fleecy shell to the soft cotton pockets, this piece looks like something out of the future.

Duke Vest, $96

The Duke is a perfect piece for throwing over a t-shirt in the summer or layering under a jacket during fall. A dobby-stripe front combines with a ever-so-slightly sheer back for equal parts gentleman and rocker.

Plant a Tree Tee, $38

Don't let the simple graphics on these t-shirts fool you. Sustainable Collective constantly tries to innovate on the basics, like the pixelated tree graphic on this one.

Suited Tee, $40

If you don't pay attention, you just might miss the subtle detailing on the Suited tee. A clever blend of screenprinting and embroidered stitching creates a cool mix of colors and textures.

Cloud Tee, $44

Another mix of print and stitching, the Cloud tee is a cool exercise in controlled chaos.

PF Flyers - Albin in Grey

PF Flyers Albin in Grey $110

In addition to the Albin in black, we're also carrying it in grey (which is really more of an off-white) with a textured patent leather upper and a shiny patent toe cap. Lined with a yellow mod-inspired floral print, the Albin has PF Flyers signature insert, making it one of the most comfortable shoes for spring/summer that we've tried on yet.

Shirt by Shirt

Our first shipment from Shirt by Shirt has arrived right on time for summer. In addition to making their own line of tailored clothing, Shirt by Shirt is the manufacturer for big name brands like JOHAN by J. Lindeberg, Zara, French Connection, and Zegna Sport.

Marine White Circle Shirt $88

A subtle white print and extra stitching on the placket makes this shirt a refined, but a casual choice for warmer weather.

Seersucker Shirt $120

By far our favorite summer shirt that's come in, this seersucker shirt comes complete with a lined collar in a great all-over dotted print. Our advice is to leave it never iron it for the perfect rumpled look.

Plain white shirt $77

And nothing beats a casual, light cotton shirt for summer. Whether you pair it with some shorts or pin-rolled khakis, you can't go wrong.

Blue plaid shirt $140

We've seen a ton of plaid this season, but this is, by far, one of the smartest takes we've come across in a while. With cuffs and collar lined in a great paisley-type print, this shirt deserves a place in your closet as a casual staple. And the photos don't do any justice to the grat blue-tinted plaid.
